Description:

a small to medium sized butterfly in an area of boggy grassland with abundant wild flowers. Note wingspan is about equal to size of the buttercup it is resting on.

Well, I am always learning. Just read that Large Copper is extinct in UK, so it must be a Small Copper. Many thanks Chris Brooks for the ID.
