I nearly made a very big blunder here!
I glanced at this photo and nearly called it a wood mouse, then considered house mouse because the fur was so dull and dark.
Then I realised it was a young animal, hind legs very large compared to body size and looked a little closer; noticing the clincher, the pink, hairless tail.
Lipper, you are the proud owner of a photo of a young brown rat!
Stick up an identification for brown rat and I'll agree with it.
