Notes: separated by 2 characters; the apical edge of the last segment of the maxillary palps in C.pallida is darkened sometimes almost black. In C.cryptica it is entirely yellow although sometimes may be very finely darkened. In C.pallida the elytral pubescence is of one type, uniform and quite dense across the whole surface, in C.cryptica it is of two types; a recumbent layer interspersed with longer, more erect hairs. Sometimes this can be difficult to see, without comparison. It is noit possible to see these characters from one photo therefore the safest ob is Catharis with it likely being cryptica/pallida
