Description:

In damp-ish mixed woodland, about 1m tall. I think it might be Star Sedge, but not at all sure. I'm looking for correction or agreement.

Thanks both

I have posted a previous Carex otrubae, but this, as before, puzzled me considerably.
I had to have a go, because my wife's initials have led to her nickname of "Sedge": she expects me to put a name to anything with triangular stems as a mark of my devotion!

If you look at the whole plants ...

... Carex otrubae and Carex spicata look very different. It turns out that if you look at an infructescence in isolation it's not so obvious. I went on the stout stalk, but the spikelets are bigger as well. (I've been trying to get an in-focus photo of my only known Carex spicata, so I have out-of-focus photos to compare.)
