We get them in Highland, but I have never seen one.
They are very site specific but once found they can be seen in large numbers. I'm lucky enough to live near a site where on a good year there are literally thousands. They like acidic runnels and seepages and provided they retain water it is surprising how little water they need to lay eggs, no more than puddles really but they seem to do very well.
