Description:

2 different plant that look very similar so assume they are the same, or at least both in the galium family. Very small, definitely smelly but not the scent of woodruff.

Heath Bedstraw

Where I live in the Pennines there is a lot of Heath Bedstraw and it grows everywhere. The other plants visible commonly grow alongside it.
This location is quite close to me and is on the edge of the peak district. What I don't know is how Hedge bedstraw smells. Does it have a sickly smell like G.Saxatile?

I'm not sure about the smell!

Galium album

I've been handling it today, didn't notice a smell at all. Each petal ends in a long sharp tip.

Smell

That's interesting and helpful. There are patches here with a strong smell but they are very robust which made me doubtful.
