Description:

Climbing vine, longest vine is 8 feet long. It flowered with sparse number of blooms in mid June. Blooms were burgundy if I remember rightly. It appears to have new flower bud's around 1cm long. Will it flower again in September? Can anyone guess at a cultivar without bloom shots?
edit: added a bloom shot. Taken with flash in twilight hence the odd shadows! Started blooming yesterday, 18.7.13

Clematis

Unfortunately there are hundreds of Clematis cultivars and many are this kind of colour. Does the photo make it look more pink than in real life? Two nice purple varieties are 'Jackmanii' and 'Etoile Violette', you could start by looking at images for those on Google then see if you can match yours.
