Limnephilus

L. ignavus certainly looks a possibility, but I'm not confident of being able to confirm this one from the photos, I think it will be a matter of checking its genitalia.

Caddisflies do sometimes disperse quite widely, I quite often get them in moth-traps some distance from water.

Thanks Martin,

Yes I'm often surprised how far from water I find adult caddis. Ive been looking in Barnard and Ross since posting this and I think it might bear a better resemblence to the more mottled L. bipunctatus- ignavus doesnt seem to be so mottled. I'd like to have caddis confirmed by an expert and I think I'll put this one into alcohol for sending to the right person.
