Description:

What killed this caterpillar I know not, at first I thought it might have been dropped by a bird. But might a parasite have emerged from it. You can see what I think is a pupa of some sort in the hairs at the top right hand of the caterpillar. The third photograph shows another Garden Tiger caterpillar between the planks of the walkway I was on only inches from the dead one. I wonder was this to be their pupation site?
