Was it in leaf litter or tree/ forest area ?? sorry just noticed title and poss needles in the image it makes it likely to be this

The species name is from Latinized Greek hypo-, "under", and pitys, "pine", referring to where it often grows

Dutchman's pipe, yellow bird's-nest or pinesap,
