Unidentified feather - possibly from a great or lesser spotted woodpecker?
No interactions present.
It's actually a 1p piece. Do you think this makes a difference/more likely it's from a lesser spotted?
Excuse my poor coin identification! It does mean it is quite short. It is a primary wing feather, and Great Spotted feathers (excluding the outer short feather) range from 98-138mm, Lesser Spotted from 65-86mm. If you still have it, a quick measurement should give the answer. Still think it will be Great Spotted...
My Flickr photos...
It measures c.103/104mm from the tip of the quill to the feathery end. So I suppose that confirms great spotted?
Yes, definitely Great Spotted, as suspected.
