Linked Old Species Names

In the introduction the new taxonomy features (http://www.ispot.org.uk/node/342354) it says "behind the scenes old names are automatically linked to newer ones" which I had took to mean that things identified under the old name will be linked to images under the new and vice-versa.

However take a look at http://www.ispot.org.uk/node/343450 which does not have any of the examples identified under to old genus in the Other observations carousel.

Neither are these linked in the taxonomy link at http://www.ispot.org.uk/species_dictionary/Pharmacis%20fusconebulosa

linking

Thanks David, I'm looking into this to see if we have the option of linking the older names via the carousels etc.

update

Our programmer Richard has made some changes and we think the synonyms are now linking correctly, but let us know if you find any other problems.

Synonym links

You can see this nicely if you click on the species name in the ID box. it should open up http://www.ispot.org.uk/species_dictionary/Pharmacis%20fusconebulosa

if you look at these observations then those with Likely_ID = Pharmacis fusconebulosa have the names in blue (clickable to reload this window).
The synonyms are all shown in the listing, but their names are in black.

(note that this helps to see all the "other observations" not just the last 36 that the carousel shows.)

Hope this helps.

Looks good

thanks to Richard. I think it still only appears in the species dictionary not in the carousel below an observation
