Nomada bee browsing on raspberry flowers in deep vegetation (though technically a garden)

    Confidence: It's likely to be this, but I can't be certain.
  •  
    Likely ID
    Digger wasp (Palarus sp - possibly variegatus)
    Confidence: It might be this.

I have looked at Nomada flava

I have looked at Nomada flava on the BWARS web page:
http://www.bwars.com/index.php?q=bee/apidae/nomada-flava
and it looks just like it.

Palarus variegatus is an uncommon European species, and I don't think the Palarus genus even has ANY species present in the UK.

So I don't think so!
