Bee torpor

Observed: 24th June 2013 By: henpen
Bee torpor

I have planted this plant in the garden this year and it is very attractive to bees, however the bees seem to be overcome with torpor when on this plant, with individual bees staying on the same flowerhead for up to 6 hours. Is this normal ? None of the other plants in the garden seem to have this effect on the bees.
