... this has garnered no agreements in 15 hours I guess that other people also think that this doesn't look quite right for honesty (which would usually be showing its distinctive fruits by now).
It might just be the angle of the photograph which is confusing me. If not the alternatives are Hesperis matrionalis (dame's violet) and (much rarer) Lunaria rediviva (perennial honesty).
thanks for your help, dames violet was found in the same area but i thought the leaves looked different for this flower
