Is this a Gadwall

Description:

This bird was seen on the apron of Abberton Reservoir.
I was not certain what it could be as it was in rather scruffy condition with moult. The cheeks were rather pale and it appears to have a orange line round the beak

Hybrid

The head pattern definitely has some Red-crested Pochard in it, but the body suggests hybridisation with another species, I think, possibly Mallard. It is not a Gadwall.

I agree.

This is likely to be the same individual as seen in this observation:

Thanks RoyW

I agree it was probably the same bird at the same location.
Thanks for your reply.
