Could someone ID this for me please. A beetle, about 15 - 18mm long rummaging around the small waterlily pads in a shallow pool.
No interactions present.
Wikipedia says the second one, Hydrochara caraboides is only found in the Somerset Levels, Cheshire and north-east Wales, so looks unlikely in Bournemouth. Though wikipedia is not the answer to everything, of course.
