Description:

Not very good pictures, but I fear I had a bit of an accident, and dropped my 500mm F4 and Canon 5D MkIII, damaging both.
The good news is that they're both being fixed, and I should get them back over the next couple of days. Yipee!

Oh dear!

I hope they are as good as new when you get them back!

Thanks, Jeff; so do I!.

I used a 100-400mm to get these pictures, and I'd guess the bird was perhaps 150 meters away. Desperation really - even with the 500mm they were never going to be great. Oh well. That'll teach me, won't it? At least I'd got them insured.

The wing profile

Is due to this being an adult in moult, it has lost one or two of its inner primaries.

Thanks, Bob

That's interesting. I confess I didn't think of that. I don't see that many Marsh Harriers so I assumed it was normal.
