thanks, saw lots of these little bees in palace grounds today. Its turning out to be a goldmine for bees, had 9 species of bumbles there today

I thought it may be Megachile

I thought it may be Megachile centuncularis after looking on the web? Is it just the male tawny mining bee which is ginger coloured?

No... the females are too (when they are fresh). This one is very faded and tatty
