Nettle Rust Gall

Bright orange, not certain whether it's a fungus or eggs. I'd guess at eggs.


Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

Simon, this looks like the Nettle Leaf gall. Puccinia urticata
Check it here and post it quick afore someone else..

You will, It is pretty common.
I am glad you got the ID in - on your way to five little toadstools!

If it takes... long as it did to get five little birds, I won't hold my breath!
There's just so much to learn, and I;m interested in almost all of it (even slugs).

Nettle gall

Alan, I've moved to you as quickly as I could. True enough, I should have spotted it before, but then I'd not done my posts of this delightful 'gall', even so I had suggested to Simon that it is urticata.
