An antique stuffed owl, of unknown identification

Whoever suggested that should be stuffed and placed in a cabinet...they are really tiny!

It's Victorian, when there was a great call for taxidermy, and it may be the stuffer wasn't that adept.
The size and of course tufts seem right but the face is not rusty-buff however the markings and colour may have faded. See

It is a (faded) Long-eared Owl, and an interesting post...birds in museums are not always labelled correctly!
