Can I throw a spanner into the works here and suggest (just possibly) that this might be a 'Bath White'?
....visible through the hind wing in pic one rules out Bath White or any of the whites - a worn out Orange Tip :)
Unfortunately the spanner does nt fit the nut as pointed our rear markings are visible Good thought

Yes it would be nice to see a Bath White Pontia daplidice Robert I have never seen one myself I can see why you suggested it though the underside of the wings although green are less mottled but the wings considerable more like the Marbled White lovely Butterfly It is thin on the ground and of course not restricted to Bath !! Lets hope your thoughts inspire an i-spotter to record one
Helps to look on the right page I suppose [blushing!!!]. I expect the 'Marbled' to arrive soon and have seen a couple of decent 'Large' around but not settling yet. Off to the optician for a double check.
