Flies are all eyes

The large eyes and only one pair of wings makes this a fly not a bee.

The antennae are that of a hoverfly. The looped wing vein suggests Merodon equestris and not Criorhina.

Thanks Chris. I was just trying to work out how to tell them apart. It looks like the eyes are slightly different shapes as well.
