hemiptera

I assumed it was hemiptera, but it seemed to be lacking any coloured hairs on the side of the thorax...is that normal?

Hairs

The hairs are there, just somewhat faded - looks to me as if this is a fairly "elderly" speciemn, wings are a bit worn as well.

Hairs

Thanks, Matt. Incidentally, I have been seeing these most times I am out, for the last month or so, which is far earlier than I normally see them.

Records

We have records for Phasisa hemiptera for most of the warmer months of the year including quite a few from April, though there are certainly more recorded during the later summer months.
