Some type of solitary bee?

Found this little guy on the slide in Meare Village childrens playground. He didn't seem to be able to fly away?

I omitted to mention that only the males have the 'boxing gloves' on the front feet.

Thank-you, very useful. I am not near the coast or dunes or heath so i imagine it is M. willughbiella. It did have the boxing gloves on the front feet, so guess it is a male one. Maybe it was confused by being on a bright blue plastic slide as when it slid to the ground it seemed to want to burrow, not fly away. Cheers for your help
