Male

A nice dragonfly but it's a male. The female (which seem to be seen on the wing rather than perching in my experience) have a very obvious long ovipositor protruding from the end of the abdomen.

It's one of those funny things, in about 10 years of photographing Golden Ringed Dragonflies I must have got 1000's of images of males perching nicely but until last year no females but then I got two cracking opportunities. Regards Chris.
