We saw this in the garden yesterday and we thought it was a Metallic Longhorn moth but we would like some one to help us out, thanks!
No interactions present.
This is a female reaumurella, they have much shorter antennae than the males and the thorax is less hairy.
Nemophora metallica has a brassy coloured forewing, unlike this moth.
I must have seen mostly males - do they fly earlier than females?
I don't think so. The males are usually the ones which are seen though - often swarming. The males are rather distinctive with as you say long antennae and hairy thorax but the females can be similar to several other species.
Ron, please take another look, this is clearly not Nemophora metallica.
