Description:

A writhing, shiny brown mass under a stone.
I tried to stretch it out and lifted about a quarter of it way above my head, dangling - so let's say it was potentially 6 metres - I suspect far more.

Even your bootlace worms seem different, with a blue sheen Dejay. Great to see the head & all.

iridescence

Yes Chris, the lighting in Orkney gives that edge.
I have no doubt though about its iridescence, see -

I really wanted to test its length but that would have been too stressful (for it!).
Each time I visit the low-shore I come home with surprises, mysteries and a hundred photos!
