Buttercup mines

Ideally you need to see the mine in detail with a light source behind, then the frass pattern becomes clearer and that will help to narrow down the options. Phytomyza ranunculi is a very strong candidate.

To be honest

I hadn't even noticed the mine until I got home, I was just taking some leaf photos in case they were needed to ID the buttercup species.
