'Sticky' leaves

Cleavers or goose grass has lots of local names around the UK - Sticky willy being just one.

It is a member of the bedstraw family (whorls of leaves up the main stem) and each leaf and the stem has lots of tiny hooks which allows it to hook (or 'stick') onto pasing animals and humans. It has tiny white flowers later in the season.
