Description:

On the patio in the garden. Lightly branched, stems 1-1.5cm long. Leaves egg shaped with clearly visible nerve, and small pointed tip. No obvious capsules.
As first I thought it was Brachythecium rutabulum, but the leaves seem too small

Great, thanks

Looked again at the sample, and the description in the BBS guide and that does look very likely to me. No capsules, though

Not at all sure but...

It looks like Brachythecium rutabulum to me (and it is very variable) - but I could easily be wrong. But I am a moss beginner. :)

Hmmm

Leaves a shade over 1mm long.

I'll compare it with the sample I have of B. rutabulum to double check.
