Description:

Confused over this one. One reference referred to a species with all black head and black legs and another refers to one with orange and black head with orange legs. This one has an all black head and orange legs. Confused!

I think you are right with Arge owing to the long upper unsegmented antennae segment; however the lack of a dark front edge to the wing rules out A. pagana.

As I said, I was confused and

As I said, I was confused and now I have an ID that I can follow up. The problem is knowing where to look and my reference book doesn't have the 'Bramble'. I have the Collins 'British Insects' and it is a good starting point for me. Like most dyslectics I have some trouble finding a starting point for identifications and pictures and common names help a lot.
