Three of these wasps spotted in long grass in the garden hovering near to and them entering a pile of dead wood which has bees nesting in it. At first I thought it was Philanthus triangulum but looking at photo, now not sure as appears more brown and with fewer bands of yellow on abdomen. Photo not great but would like an ID and idea of how common, if possible, please?

  • Bee killer wasp
    Confidence: It might be this.
    Likely ID
a Nomad Cuckoo Bee (Nomada sp.)
Confidence: I'm as sure as I can be.
