I'd been assuming this common plant in our new location was the well-known Cow Parsley. But having a closer look, I've managed to persuade myself I'm not so sure.
This is a montage showing plant, inflorescence, and leaves.

Once I start to doubt an identification, I find it difficult to convince myself. What a useful tool this site is!

umbellifer IDs

Apart from fruits (not yet available) what can be useful in identifying umbellifers are the bracts (at the base of the umbels) and the bracteoles (at the base of the subumbels).
