Plant diseases

I occasionally come across leaf diseases and would like to find out what they are. It seems a bit incongruous to upload the images to the Plants category as people are then identifying and agreeing on the plant species, not the disease. Is there any possibility of a generic disease category?

Plant diseases ...

... would be placed under Fungi and Lichens, Invertebrates or Other Organisms, depending on the identity of the pathogen.

But I agree that if you're not an expert picking the right one is difficult.

Re: Plant diseases ...

Thanks lavateraguy. That's what I ended up doing with my recent posting of Ramularia rubella (unconfirmed as yet but I'm pretty sure it's in the ball park). It makes sense to post in Fungi and Lichens etc. but it would be nice all the same if somehow we could get all those pathogens together in some way for the people who are interested in such things. However, I do admit that there may not be a clear dividing line in defining something as a "pathogen" - I suppose some organism may cause change in its host without actually damaging its normal functioning.
