Best book I have found so far...

...is Francis Rose, Colour Identification Guide to the Grasses, Sedges, Rushes and Ferns of the British Isles and North Western Europe.

Bit of a long title, but it's a very clear, concise, well-illustrated book.

Not a field book (it's quite a large format) but very informative.
