Searching for own observations and other enhancements

Often I want to have a look at previous observations that I've posted in order to compare them with recent sightings. Unless it's a feature that I've missed, could there not be a facility to search only through one's own observations (or, more generally, through the observations of a given poster)? Expanding that, would it be possible to make the search function more useful by adding the option to return results ordered by date, number of identification agreements, relevance, observation user, identification user etc?

Searching

Clicking on the Observations label across the top provides a search facility where you can filter by Group, User and a combination of Date(s). You can then always search for yourself.

Searching

Many thanks for that Ray, but it doesn't really solve my issue as it then lists all my observations in the specified group - that is a great deal of observations for, say, plants. What would be ideal would be to able to specify e.g. (by selecting relevant checkboxes etc) "Give me all records with the word "Fern" in them that I have posted, and list those in alphabetical/date-descending order".

Essentially, there is a huge database of info that is being maintained on iSpot but the search facility isn't yet sufficient to properly interrogate that data. I'm sure that it will come though.

Me Too

I agree it needs enhancing and have exactly the same issues.

I understand the new all singing all dancing v3 of iSpot will have improved search functions, I hope this is one area they have looked at.

Maps

Take a look at the mapping feature which allows more sophisticated searches. Still not sure it will do exactly what you want but it may get closer.
