J01_2688 Red-eyed Damselfly
Description:

We ran across a cluster of lily pads playing home to a cluster of Red-eyed Damselflies on the River Ouse near Roxton. Fortunately, some were rather closer in the nettle bed.
[Note to self: wear thicker trousers.]

I too had the nettle problem yesterday through jeans and I am sure they have a stronger sting when young.

I was doing alright ...

... until I crouched low and squeezed a nettle between calf and thigh behind my bent knee. ;-)

I surprised they got through jeans and, yes, I believe the youngsters are more virulent.
