And to answer the question why it is stitchwort ...

... rather than mouseear or chickweed, most stitchworts have lanceolate (narrow) leaves (wood stitchwort is an exception) while mouseears have hairy ovate leaves, and chickweeds glabrous(ish?) ovate leaves.
