stinking dapperling

This is most likely this fungi, though it is mostly found in the summer/autumn, in gardens and woods. Looks like the subject is getting past its best. Some texts saying an unpleasant smell can be found coming from it, as its name would imply. Hope this is of somehelp. Fly agaric

Thank you! I didn't think to smell it at the time. It's the closest match I could find in my guide book but as you say, it is clearly an old one.
