Silpha ?tristis

The antennal club in Necrodes littoralis should be orange. It looks dark in this specimen. The body is also the wrong shape. I suspect this is Silpha sp, possibly S.tristis.

Thank you for the ID and it seems that it is quite unusual. I checked out the sites that you suggested. I will go back to my macro 'raw' digital images and enlarge as you have done for your April spot. Raw images are available if wanted.

A nice find.

It's a species I have seen quite a few of recently so I thought it looked familiar (but I had not seen one for over 10 years previously).
