This fungi looks alot like dryads saddle latin name polyporus squamosus, this is a parasitic fungi living on deciduous trees favouring beech, elm and sycamore. Information from a book written by Rodger Phillips called Mushrooms, well worth adding it to the book case.
Your example is exactly the same example posted by Jenny21 on the 22nd, locations match and it looked very familiar.
