As I understand it, a yellow-bodied fungus gnat should be S. hemerobioides.

There is a europaen species of fungus gnat S analis which I am not sure if any of its recorded presence in the UK but it is v similar

Freeman

Looking in Freeman's key, hemerobioides (thomae, as was) is the only one with yellow abdominal pleurae mentioned.
