It was swimming in an old bath for collecting water in our allotment.

Don't know, might be Bidens tripartita (if someone has separated the leaves before they fell into the water) or Lycopus europaeus or something completely different.
Next time you go over there have a look around to see if you can find any similar leaves preferably growing on a plant and add that image too.

We know that some vegetative parts are very virile - hence cuttings of course.
It is unusual though.
I forgot to look last time I was there and actually I think the bath referred to has now broken so not sure it holds water any more. (I do know red panda)
