What's on in Wales???

Hi all
Welcome to the Wales 'In Your Region Page'.
I hope you are all enjoying getting out as we head towards summer, dodging the rain and finding some wonderful wildlife! I've been in post as Mentor for Wales again since November and have been busy promoting the site and engaging new users at all levels of wildlife expertise. Over the coming months I'd like to encourage you to use this forum to promote both local and regional Wildlife events and activities across Wales. This may range from family wildlife days to specialist recording activities. If you'd like me to promote anything get in touch - or use the forum to highlight your own events. We'd love to hear from you! To get the ball rolling here are the dates of Bioblitzes within Wales this summer. I will be at both the Caldicot and Carmarthenshire Bioblitzes, using iSpot as a resource on the day - come along and join us!

Pembrokeshire BioBlitz at Stackpole - 25/26-May-13

Caldicot BioBlitz - 31-May/01-June-13

Camarthenshire BioBlitz - 15/16-Jun-13

Holyhead BioBlitz at RSPB South Stack - 22-Jun-13

Flintshire BioBlitz - 31-Aug-13

Carmarthenshire BioBlitz

Hi everyone

Hoping to see lots of iSpotters at the Carmarthenshire BioBlitz at WWT Llanelli Wetland Centre on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 June, and Clare will be there too!

We've got some fantastic expert naturalists coming, running surveys on moths, butterflies, dragonflies, plants, pond creatures, small mammals, reptiles, amphibians, bats.... so there should be lots of observations for iSpot - we'll be using the descriptive tag bioblitz-llanelli2013 on everything we upload.

Best wishes
Pam Styles

Anglesey Walking Festival

There is a fantastic series of island walks over the next two weeks as part of the Anglesey Walking Festival. There are Otter, water vole and squirrel themed events as well as those covering a wide range of natural and ecological features. The two red squirrel walks are on 29th May and 1st June
