About3cm long found in dug up earth

I saw something similar in Uganda and that was a queen termite. I wonder if this is a queen of a UK species similar.
It's a moth cocoon - possibly yellow underwing. Keep it in a jar with a bit of compost in the bottom and a small twig for the moth to climb up and dry its wings, and check the jar every day to see what emerges. Post a pic on here to ID it!
Oh and remember to use a lid on the jar - take it off when you check it and replace it to keep the air fresh.
