hilaris?

someone's just posted something on the Danish site asking if it's D. hilaris. Is that something to look out for here? And is it a species or would it have 'var.' status perhaps?

hilaris

I've never seen hilaris. It has a yellow facial knob. According to the 2011 Atlas of the Hoverflies of Great Britain, it has been seen in 32 hectads since 1985, spread from north of Inverness down to Hampshire. Possible association with conifer plantations.

Text says...

"The taxonomic status of this species has yet to be completely resolved. The male genitalia appear to be distinct from either D. venustus or D. friuliensis, and its specific status may therefore be justified."
