Orange fungus growing on lower live stems of gorse bushes
Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!
Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.
No interactions present.
Well done for including the ruler. In this case not absolutely necessary but crucial for many postings.
Yellow brain is a parasite on another fungus (Peniophora), which in turn lives from the fibres of gorse. If you look through other observations you will find pictures of both.
Yours, I believe, is off season and looks a little battered. But sure enough will be found nearby later in the season.
See mine here - http://www.ispot.org.uk/node/317882 and the naming sin I committed.
