Description:

this is the same beetle that was trying to fly through my bedroom glass window last night. It is now sleeping (i think) next to the window.
What should I do with it? Just leave it? Can I put it somewhere it would be happier?

Cockchafer

Yes, this is the cockchafer beetle. They fly at night and are attracted to light, hence they sometimes bump against windows. If you leave your light off tonight it will probably fly away, but if you want to move it then just take it in the direction of the nearest long grass or scrub and let it go there.
