Thanks Andy. I looked up Muslin Footman in "Moths of the Bristol Region" and it mentions it being found on old walls in limestone areas and its foodplant is lichen. So it all makes sense!

I saw my first Muslin Footman several years ago at Winterbourne, just to the north of Bristol, also on a limestone wall
